Dr. Patrick W. Case, the founder of Active Health & Wellness Center, is a Board Certified Chiropractic Orthopedist and a Fellow of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedics which is recognized in all 50 states, Canada and many other countries of the world. Beyond the training required to be recognized as doctors of chiropractic, he and Dr. McConnell are Michiana’s only Board Certified Chiropractic Orthopedists, which means they underwent extensive post-graduate education and successfully completed vigorous oral and written testing by some of the most knowledgeable leaders in the chiropractic field. This specialized four year post-graduate training in examination, diagnosis, treatment, physical therapy and rehabilitation places them in an elite group of fewer than 1% of all chiropractors in the USA who have achieved the status of being Board Certified Chiropractic Orthopedists.

Throughout his career, Dr. Case has served as the team doctor for a variety of high school, intramural and semi-pro teams including John Adams High School (South Bend, IN), The Stampede, Indiana Titans and Elkhart Shamrocks. Collegiate and pro athletes from throughout the nation have sought Dr. Case’s professional care, including members of the Purdue men's basketball team, National Women's Football League Indiana Thunder, the California Angels baseball team, and the former Los Angeles Rams football teams.

Who is Dr. Case?
Dr. Case is a native of Mishawaka, the eldest of four children. While in college and still determining which specialty of medicine he wanted to pursue, Dr. Case chose the Chiropractic profession because of its close relationship to athletic performance and sports injury prevention.

Dr. Case and his wife Cindy are the proud parents of Ryan, Nick and Rebecca. In his spare time, Dr. Case enjoys playing softball and racquetball and traveling with his family.

When asked what he enjoys most about Dr. Case is quick to answer “the challenge of managing a business that has so much potential to help people. One of my biggest joys is watching my chiropractic office staff’s personal growth.”

Dr. Mick McConnell joined the Active Health & Wellness team in 2001 as a Chiropractic Physician and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. In 2007 he completed extensive training and testing which earned him the title of Chiropractic Orthopedist, one of only two in the Michiana area (the other being our own Dr. Case). He is trained in examination, diagnosis, treatment and physical therapy for many different types of injuries ranging from minor aches and pains to serious auto accidents, sports injuries or workmen’s compensation injury cases.

He is currently one of the team doctors for the Elkhart Shamrocks and Indiana Titans semi-pro football teams, and has assisted with the Adams High School sports medicine program.

Who is Dr. McConnell?
Dr. McConnell, is a native of Goshen, Indiana. Dr. McConnell and his wife Tracie have two children, Ally and Maddy. Because of his personal experience with a neck injury, Dr. McConnell was inspired to pursue the chiropractic profession.

In his spare time, Dr. McConnell enjoys spending time with his family, exercise and golf.

What Dr. McConnell enjoys most about coming to work each day is “striving to get better at what I do so I can provide the best care to our patients.”

Dr. Lisa A. Meyers, a licensed Chiropractic Physician, began her affiliation with Active Health & Wellness in February 2000. Prior experience in Indianapolis included treating professional athletes from the Indianapolis Pacers and Indy 500 Race drivers.

Upon relocating to South Bend in 1999, she saw Active Health and Wellness as an organization with high standards similar to her own, housed in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. It was a great fit!

Dr. Meyers’ experience includes treating many types of injuries ranging from serious auto accidents and workmen's compensation to minor aches and pains such as low back pain or headaches. She also enjoys treating kids of all ages. Dr. Meyers is trained to examine, diagnose and render the necessary chiropractic treatment and physical therapy. Dr. Meyers’ extensive knowledge complements other specialties in the medical field such as orthopedics and neurologists and feels confident in consulting with them when additional diagnostic testing is needed for a proper diagnosis.

Who is Dr. Meyers? Dr. Meyers is a native of Alpha, Illinois, the first of three children. Dr. Meyers is married to Craig, and they are the parents of Sydney and Jacob. In her spare time, Dr. Meyers enjoys bicycling or watching a good movie, and especially visiting Mickey Mouse when she's able!

She decided early on in her life that she wanted to pursue the Chiropractic profession because her father had such fantastic results from chiropractic care.

When asked what she enjoys most about her profession, Dr. Meyers is quick to answer “I really like helping people feel better.”
